About
Mateo Rico is an EIT finishing an M.S. in Structural Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona, expected Spring 2027. His path wasn't a straight line: mechanical engineering at San Francisco State, then real estate, then bartending, then back to school from pre-calc.
The bartenders are why. He asked them whether they'd go back and finish school if they could, and all of them said yes. "You gotta take wisdom from those around you."
Philosophy
His own concept: imitate your life on the people you look up to. Start with real heroes, then go to fiction, so the bar isn't capped by human capacity.
