Case study ยท In development
A photo viewer layered over the library you already have.
Designed and directed by Mateo Rico, with AI writing the code.
Problem
Most photo apps want to own your library: import it, store it, sync it. WinPix starts from the opposite idea. Your photos stay where they are, and the app only changes how you experience them.
What it does
People and naming, trips and locations, a globe of where your photos were taken, and a culling deck for clearing a backlog fast.
Hard part
People only trust a viewer with their real photos if it can't hurt them. Every delete needs a confirmation and goes to the Recycle Bin. On a drive with no bin, WinPix verifies a copy into the system bin before it removes the original. It also blocks a delete that would overflow the bin, because Windows would then purge older files for good.
Where it stands
In review before release. A demo video comes first, then a download.
